About Us

Founded in 1928, MEC has an 80-year tradition of outstanding performance on some of the nation's most high-profile projects.

While our roots go back to Massachusetts, MEC has a history of successfully completing major electrical projects across the nation for state, federal, transportation, utilities, commercial and industrial markets. We benefit from repeat business by building strong relationships with owners, general contractors, engineers and architects. We take pride in our long-standing reputation and proven ability to complete projects on time, within budget and safely.

MEC has grown to become one of the largest electrical contractors in the United States, with projects and offices throughout the country. We continue to build on our tradition of excellence, while exploring renewable energy markets and new technologies that will help shape the future of MEC for the next 80 years.

In order to better service our varied customer base, Mass. Electric divided into two separate districts in 2007 – MEC Industrial and MEC Transportation.
