MEC has a proven track record in the construction and maintenance of critical projects such as high-rises, office buildings, data centers, banks, colleges and universities, sports stadiums wastewater treatment plants and major roadways/bridges.

Some of the projects MEC has been involved with are:

Institute of Contemporary Art (ICA)
Owner: Institute of Contemporary Art
General Contractor: GBH Macomber Co.
Completion Date: 2006
The new 65,000 square foot ICA is located along the Boston Harbor waterfront; a main feature in the new ICA is the 325-seat performing arts theater. MEC installed the primary duct bank and secondary service, switchgear, lighting, power, Tel/Com, security and other low voltage wiring, as well as the fire alarm system.

Boston Convention & Exhibition Center (BCEC)
Owner: Massachusetts Convention Center Authority
General Contractor: Clark Construction Group, Inc.
Completion Date: 2004
The BCEC is the largest, most technologically advanced convention center in New England with systems ranging from energy monitoring, fire alarms, access control, CCTV security monitoring and light control. Due to the project size, coordination with other trades was crucial to our success; this project was a total team effort between GC Clark/Huber Hunt Nichols/Berry and all of the other sub-contractors on site.

Millennium Place: South Block - Boston, MA

General Contractor: Bovis Lend Lease LMB, Inc.
Completion Date: 2001
The 1,200,000 sq. ft. high-rise tower in downtown Boston is 34 stories above ground, 5 stories below ground and houses retails stores, a 19-screen Loews theatre, 4 levels of the Ritz Carlton Hotel and 24 stories of luxury condos.

Intel DIBR - Hillsboro, OR

General Contractor: ADP Marshall
Completion Date: 1998
Renovations and a new addition to an existing sub-class 1 clean room totaling 200,000 sq. ft. The project, which consisted of the supply of high-voltage and low-voltage power, lighting and support systems, was completed in 6 months and required 160 electricians at its peak.

WaferTech: 200mm Wafer FAB Facility - Camus, Washington
Owner: WaferTech
General Contractor: Flour Daniel
Completion Date: 1998
Fast-track construction of a FAB facility with the associated administration building and central utilities plant totaling 1,000,000 sq. ft. The project was completed in 11 months and required 280 electricians at its peak.

IBM/Toshiba Project: Dominion Semiconductor - Manassas, VA
Owner: IBM/Toshiba
General Contractor: Marshall Contractors
Completion Date: 1997
All new construction of (2) buildings totaling 750,000 sq. ft. to house a semiconductor FAB operation and its accompanying central utility plant. The finished sub-class 1 clean room area is approximately 150,000 sq. ft.

National Semiconductor: Building 18 FAB Facility - Portland, ME
Owner: National Semiconductor
General Contractor: J.E. Merit
Completion Date: 1997
All new construction of a 550,000 sq. ft. building to house a semiconductor wafer FAB operation along with mechanical support and administrative areas. The finished sub-class 1 clean room area is approximately 50,000 sq. ft.

AT&T/Lucent Technologies 8" FAB Clean room - Orlando, FL
Owner: AT&T Lucent
General Contractor: Marshall Contractors
Completion Date: 1996
Interior fit-up of an existing 200,000 sq. ft. unused plant area to a class 1 clean room with support facilities. Finished clean room area is approximately 58,000 sq. ft. AT&T will manufacture 8" wafers to be cut into semiconductor chips.

Third Harbor Tunnel/Central Artery Project - Boston, MA
Owner: Mass. Highway Dept.
General Contractor: Various
Completion Date: 2002
Installation of all power, lighting, low voltage systems, and coordination of ventilation systems for various portions of this, the largest highway/tunnel project in the U.S.

Fidelity Investments: World Trade Center - Boston, MA
Owner: Fidelity Corp.
General Contractor: Payton Construction
Completion Date: On-Going
Phased remodeling of and occupied 14,000 sq. ft. facility. Special consideration is being given to minimizing disturbances to the daily operations of the Owner.

Toray Film Process - Providence, RI
Owner: Toray Plastics
General Contractor: Direct to Owner
Completion Date: 1998
Installation of all power and process work for a complex high-tech manufacturing line while meeting all standards levels and scheduling constraints.
