Hellgate Line Catenary Modifications

As part of a modification project that included the installation of 1.5 million pounds of structural steel to support 15 miles of registered track, MEC adjusted new heights and staggers on the new insulator assemblies for catenary on new and existing structures.

Sunnyside Yard I Platform Improvement

Located in Queens, NY, Sunnyside Yard is a large railroad yard for Amtrak’s passenger cars. As a subcontractor to Kiewit Infrastructure Co., MEC is performing the replacement of the existing steam-heated supply system with a new electric-heat trace system.

Sunnyside Yard II New York Facility Improvements

As a subcontractor to Kiewit Infrastructure Co., MEC is performing the following improvements to two Amtrak facilities:

Fire Standpipe Electric Bonding and Grouping

MEC augmented approximately 90,000 feet of existing six-inch-diameter Dry Fire Standpipe system in the Hudson River and East River tunnels.

Modifications to Dry Fire Standpipe System

MEC is a subcontractor to Kiewit Constructors, Inc. for a $22 Million rehabilitation project to Amtrak’s New York tunnels.
