Boeing Delta IV Rocket Manufacturing Facility

In October 1998, Mass Electric Construction Co. formed a joint venture with Garnet Electrical Co. of Florence, AL to perform the electrical work at the 1.7 million sq. ft . Delta IV Rocket Facility. In less than nineteen months, the site was transformed from farmland, into a facility capable of mass producing forty rockets per year.

The electrical sub-contract work included extensive 15KV interlocked armored cable distributed on cable tray, feeding thirty -one 15KV substations located throughout the facility.

The building lighting, fire alarm, bridge cranes and HVAC systems were installed using 100 ft by 40 ft . movable rack platforms that MEC shared with all other trade, making coordination a top priority.
