Rodeo Renewable Fuels Facility - IOS

To meet the growing demand for renewable fuels, the client converted a refinery into one of the world’s largest renewable fuels plants, which produces 800 million gallons per year of renewable diesel, gasoline and sustainable aviation fuel. This project will reduce the plant’s greenhouse gas emissions by 50% to enable the client to meet local regulations and standards.

As part of the IOS scope, Mass Electric Construction Co. is responsible for ensuring new equipment is tied in with existing infrastructure. Major scope components include:

  • Installation of underground electrical
  • Installation of I/E Equipment
  • Dress out of equipment
  • Installation of transformers
  • Install electrical, lighting fixtures, conduits, cable, cable tray, receptacles, etc.
  • Installation and termination of power cable
  • Installation and demolition of instrumentation
  • Installation of instrument cables and conduits from all instruments to the new and existing junction boxes
  • Installation of grounding, tubing and miscellaneous supports
  • Installation of electrical heat tracing and heat trace control panels
  • Installation and terminations of power cables from heat trace control panels to heat trace power
    connection kit and tube bundle power connection kit
  • Installation of air-blown fiber optic tubes
  • Fiber optic TDU
  • Installation of analyzer sample and return systems
  • System grounding – instrument and mechanical Grounding
  • Checking in and out of field instruments
