TRAX AIRPORT EXTENSION

The TRAX Airport Light Rail Project extended the TRAX line from the Arena Station, connecting several major destinations to the Salt Lake City International Airport. This new six-mile LRT provides a direct transfer from the West Station on top of the newly renovated North Temple Viaduct to the FrontRunner Commuter Train.

Mass. Electric Construction Co.’s scope of work inlcuded:

  • Six miles of overhead catenary installation
  • Six traction power substations
  • 6 grade crossings with warning gates
  • 12 signal houses and communications equipment
  • Devices at six passenger stations
