WMATA Radio and OCC Relocation

Mass. Electric Construction Co. worked in an integrated fashion with the prime contractor, Kiewit, and the designer, Kiewit Infrastructure Engineers, as part of this emergency works contract for WMATA, which encompassed evaluating, designing, building and commissioning new spaces to support moving WMATA’s existing radio and rail/bus operations control centers equipment. 

The project team worked together to identify the requirements for each space, find suitable locations within WMATA’s system, design the changes needed to the space, build and commission the spaces. 

Mass. Electric’s construction scope across multiple sites included installation and commissioning of the following:

• Access control
• Cameras
• Panel boards
• CAT6
• Fiber
• Radio antennas
• Coax cable
• Grounding systems,
• UPS’s
• Generators
• Battery banks
